Sheri T. Lake has practiced family law exclusively for over 15 years. She began her legal career as law clerk to the Honorable Michael E. Hancock, Superior Court of DeKalb County where she gained valuable insight into the court system and its consideration of family law matters. Thereafter, Sheri worked for some of the most prestigious family law firms in the Atlanta, Georgia area. She was recognized in 2006 & 2007 as a Georgia Rising Star Super Lawyer and in 2013 & 2015 as a Georgia Trend Legal Elite. Sheri has lectured to other members of the State Bar of Georgia and nationally on issues related to family law, custody, social media discovery and admissibility, prenuptial and post-nuptial agreements and financial settlements. In addition to representing parties to a family law dispute, Sheri is also frequently appointed to represent the best interests of children involved in such disputes as a Guardian ad litem, and Sheri also mediates family law matters.
Sheri received her J.D. from Georgia State University in 1997, and a B.A. in History in 1990. Prior to beginning her career in the law, Sheri worked in sports marketing and management. She has been licensed to practice law in the state of Georgia since 1997 and in the state of California since 2005.
Sheri is a member of the Family Law Sections of the State Bar of Georgia and the State Bar of California. In addition, she is a member of the DeKalb County, Sandy Springs and Atlanta Bar Associations. Since 2015, Sheri has been a barrister member of the Charles Longstreet Weltner Family Law American Inn of Court.
Sheri lives in Atlanta with her husband, Doug, their two boys and their dog, Django.
