Alice W. Limehouse has practiced family law exclusively for over 15 years. Prior to joining Smith & Lake, Alice had a successful private family law practice. She prides herself as being centered upon meeting clients’ needs and goals through pragmatic, case-specific strategy and detail-driven presentation. Alice is trained in Collaborative Law, a non-adversarial process used to resolve family law issues. In addition to representing parties in family law disputes, she is also frequently appointed to represent the best interests of children involved in such disputes as a Guardian ad litem, and also mediates family law matters both privately and through the courts. She is specially certified in Domestic Violence mediation.
Alice is admitted to the Georgia Bar and is an active member of its Family Law Section. Alice belongs the Atlanta Bar Association and the DeKalb Bar Association and is involved in the Family Sections of each. She is past chair of the board of the Family Section of the DeKalb Bar Association. She is also a member of the Association of Family and Conciliation Courts (AFCC). She regularly presents on Family Law issues to attorneys and judges and has been on panels and guest lectured at Emory University’s Law School. She was selected as a Super Lawyers® Georgia Rising Stars.
Alice received her J.D. from Georgia State University and her B.A. in Religious Studies from Agnes Scott College. She is a native Atlantan and lives in Sandy Springs with her family.
